Position Summary

A Bench Technician is considered an in-house service/repair technician.  The Bench Technician performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at an established company repair site or service center.  The equipment varies from communication hardware to lottery point of sale and vending equipment.

•      Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures. Perform maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products, as well as inventory tracking.
•     General warehouse duties, including inventory, shipping, and forklift operation, may also be a portion of the work.Oral and written communication, as well as hands-on work with field-based technicians for details regarding diagnostics or repairs.
•     Assist in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.Assist in the training of new and existing team members.
•     Assist with the creation of presentations/reports regarding bench and equipment activities, issues, and performance.Some travel to customer locations for on-site work is possible.
•     Performs these functions and all other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  Education

  Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.

  Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

  •  An understanding of, and experience with, troubleshooting computer software and hardware technologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.

  • Promptly respond to customer/leadership requests and feedback.

  • Proven self-starter with motivation and ability.

  • Organization and time management skills that enable effective multitasking.

  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills to determine most cost-effective repair/resolution.

  • Available to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to lift, install and move large self-service equipment (regularly lift or move 35 pounds or more).

  • Able to travel overnight if needed.

  • Ability to drive a non-CDL delivery truck.

  • Pass background check, DOT certification and drug test.

  • Pass a background check, drug test, and have a clean driving record.
