The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of the organization's employee benefits programs. This role serves as a key resource for employees, leaders, and external partners, ensuring accurate benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional employee experience.
Job Duties:
- Administer and maintain all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts (FSA), and other wellness and benefits offerings.
- Manage employee benefit enrollments, life event changes, eligibility verification, and open enrollment processes while ensuring accurate data and timely plan administration.
- Coordinate and administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, state leave programs, workers' compensation, and short- and long-term disability benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing exceptional customer service, education, and guidance on plan options and policies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, leave administration, and reporting requirements.
- Manage unemployment claims, hearings, documentation, and communications with government agencies while minimizing organizational risk and maintaining compliance.
- Partner with benefit carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, and HR leadership to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain effective vendor relationships.
- Analyze benefits utilization, market trends, and employee feedback to recommend enhancements that support employee attraction, retention, and engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience administering employee benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation.
- Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and related benefits regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS, benefits administration platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information:
- Pay: $38-40/hr.
- Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8am - 4:30pm
- Location: Saint Paul, MN
- Contract Length: 2-4 months (depending on business needs)
