The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs for multiple client companies. This role works closely with clients, employees, insurance carriers, and internal departments to ensure benefit enrollments, eligibility changes, billing, and compliance activities are administered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulations while delivering an exceptional client and employee experience.

Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping others.

Salary: $55,000–$80,000+ annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit plans for multiple client companies.
  • Process market quotes, enrollments, life events, terminations, COBRA, and open enrollment.
  • Serve as primary contact for benefit questions and carrier issues.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and audit payroll deductions as needed.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR, and Client Services.
  • Maintain records and SOPs.
  • Support implementations, renewals, and compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years benefits administration experience.
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • HRIS, benefits systems, payroll software, Microsoft Office.
  • Texas Life & Health License or ability to obtain.

Preferred

  • PEO and/or employee benefits brokerage experience. Candidates with this background may qualify for higher compensation.
  • Open enrollment and implementation experience.

Mental and Physical Demands

General office and sedentary. Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing up to 30 pounds. 

Maintain emotional control under stress, work with interruptions and deadlines.

May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Environmental Factors

May be exposed to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional exposure to weather related conditions when working in an outdoor environment.
