We are looking for a Benefits Consultant who will be well versed on client management.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BENEFITS CONSULTANT:
- Responsible for oversight of all client service to assigned groups
- Renew existing business to meet or exceed production goals as jointly established with agency owners
- Obtain and follow up on information concerning underwriting, claims, and other areas as reasonably requested by agency owners, customer service representatives or company representatives
- Initiate and facilitate on-site client meetings to review and present claims data (monthly, quarterly, or bi-annually), marketing proposals, stewardship reports, pre-renewal and renewal projections, and Open Enrollment meetings
- Negotiate on behalf of clients to achieve goals of best benefits for best rates
- Direct implementations, enrollments, and communication processes. Participate in open enrollment meetings as needed
- Maintain client data in ImageRight
- Utilize stewardship and timeline templates insuring quality service to accounts
- Maintain above average knowledge of benefits industry trends, compliance topics, marketplace knowledge, and HCR updates
- Oversight over proposals and make recommendations and suggestions to formalize final proposal
- Carrier implementation
- Assist client in maintaining compliance for the benefit plan(s)
- Oversight over workflow adherence
- Oversee billing audits and resolutions
- Ongoing and escalated claims support
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Current 2-15 License
- College degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical insurance knowledge, industry experience, and full knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting principles
- Experience with large health and benefits clients
- A working knowledge of medical underwriting preferred
- Advanced skills in internet technology; Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong communication and negotiation skills necessary for clients, carriers, and prospects
