We are looking for someone resourceful, organized, and discerning to join our team as a Coordinator, Benefits.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate commitment to Shedd's vision, mission, and valuesHold passion for and commitment to advancing inclusion initiatives within the organizationMonitor HRIS (ADP WorkforceNow) to ensure quality assurance and data integritySupport employee ADP self-service entries and make necessary updatesProcess status, personal information, benefit, retirement, and compensation changes in ADP and benefit vendor systemsProcess terminations and compile benefits offboarding paperworkMaintain and update the organizational chart to reflect accurate reporting structuresPerform internal data audits for HR operations and projectsCoordinate with Payroll Manager on change form/payroll form submissions and audit bi-weekly payroll registerMaintain soft benefit listings and support employee inquiries and discrepanciesPartner with brokers and benefits providers to resolve issues related to benefits administration and enrollment.Monitor and manage the Benefits inbox, responding to employee inquiries and ensuring timely resolution of benefit-related questions and requests.Conduct benefits orientations for new hires and employees, delivering presentations that effectively communicate benefit programs, enrollment processes, and available resources.Contribute to Shedd's wellness programming and event coordination/planningSubmit workers' compensation injury information to the carrier, generate forms and communication for impacted employees, and maintain follow-up as neededFile timely government reports and ensure compliance with various regulations:Including, but not limited to: EEOC, EPRC, OSHA, Illinois New Hires, etc.Various reports for the immediate team, other departments, grants, and our Human Capital CommitteeRespond to unemployment claims by collecting and providing relevant informationProcess anniversary and wellness incentives via Shedd's gifting platformOther HR-related administrative tasks, reporting requests, and special projects as neededQUALIFICATIONSEducation: High school diploma or equivalent experience.Experience:2+ years of experience working in human resources, benefits experience preferredFoundational knowledge of human resource processes, terminology, policies, and programs is requiredExperience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) - ADP WorkforceNow, Workday, Rippling, or Paylocity is preferredExperience working in Microsoft Office - knowledge of SharePoint and Excel is preferredAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationAbility to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and establish rapport with others at all organizational levelsAbility to plan, organize, and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines in a continually changing work environmentAbility to be creative in troubleshooting and resolving technical issuesDemonstrated ability to use sound judgment and apply critical thinking skills when making decisionsFlexible, adaptable, self-managed, organized, with strong attention to detailStrong verbal, presentation, and written communication skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDSLift to 15 poundsSitStandStoopWalkWORK ENVIRONMENTFlexibility to attend evening and weekend events as required.Work environment may include exposure to varying noise levelsBENEFITS OF WORKING AT SHEDDMedical Insurance, including FSA and HSA plan optionsVision and Dental InsuranceAccrued Paid Time OffUp to 12 Paid HolidaysLife InsuranceParental Leaveand Adoption Assistance401(k)Discounted Parking and Public Transit SubsidiesEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Wellness program, including Preventive Care IncentiveEmployee DiscountsEmployee TicketsReasonable AccommodationsShedd Aquarium is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities.
