Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is looking for passionate Benefits Coordinator. The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day human resources support related to employee benefits, leave of absence administration, and workers' compensation programs. This role ensures exceptional customer service through in-person, phone, and electronic interactions with employees and carrier partners. The Benefits Coordinator administers benefit programs in compliance with applicable government regulations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a high level of service.

Remarkable ways you will be making a difference:

• Functions as the initial point of contact for employees regarding employee benefits, leaves of absence, and workers compensation administration
• Reports all work-related injuries through the workers' compensation insurance carrier system and assists with claim administration throughout the life of the claim
• Assists employees with leave of absence requests and disability claim administration
• Assists employees with benefit changes due to a qualifying life event
• Processes benefit changes and employee benefit status changes in HRIS with attention to detail
• Assures completion of enrollments, changes and terminations utilizing on-line software/HRIS programs for all active employees, COBRA participants and terminations
• Performs regular audits of HRIS and carrier systems to ensure the accuracy of employee benefit elections, coverage, and billing
• Conducts bi-weekly benefit orientation presentation for new hires
• Assists with planning and coordinating employee benefit education sessions, wellness events, and annual open enrollment activities
• Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual

What you need to be considered:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-year of relevant work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirement
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
