Essential Job Summary::

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support for the organization's employee benefits programs. This role assists with the day-to-day administration of health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave management, and other employee benefit offerings. The Benefits Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for employees, payroll and HR team members, ensuring accurate benefit enrollment, records management, and exceptional customer service. This role involves reviewing and processing all benefits enrollments for new hires, qualified life events and open enrollment and will serve as a resource for employees with benefit-related questions.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.:
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.  
  • Conduct new hire orientation to educate employees and assist them with making benefits elections.
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, status changes, and terminations for all health, welfare, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration through the HRIS and third-party vendor, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee benefits records within Dayforce.
  • Prepare and distribute benefits communications, enrollment materials, and employee education resources.
  • Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, disability, and paid leave programs, by assisting with documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment planning, system testing, employee communications, and enrollment processing.
  • Support wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs through administration and communication efforts.
  • Assist with compliance activities related to ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare reports and assist with audits related to benefits administration and leave management.
  • Provide administrative support for benefits projects, process improvements, and other HR initiatives as assigned.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail for HR team.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications::
  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of benefits programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit plans and administration practices.
  • Understanding of applicable regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and FMLA.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range Minimum: USD $24.00/Yr. Salary Range Maximum: USD $27.00/Yr.
