Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, you'll play a critical role in delivering competitive, compliant, and employee-centric benefits that support our people and our business.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with execution. You'll own day-to-day benefits operations while driving vendor performance, leveraging data to improve outcomes, and identifying innovative ways to enhance the employee experience.

What You'll Do
  • Benefits Strategy & Program Management
    • Manage all U.S. health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, voluntary benefits, and leave programs.
    • Administer retirement programs, including 401(k), and partner with plan providers to ensure effective governance and employee engagement.
    • Evaluate market trends and benchmark programs to ensure our benefits remain competitive and aligned with company philosophy.
    • Develop recommendations for new or enhanced benefits based on employee feedback, utilization, market data, and business needs.
    • Manage annual Open Enrollment, including project planning, communications, systems readiness, testing, and employee support.
  • Vendor Management
    • Serve as the primary relationship manager for benefits brokers, insurance carriers, retirement providers, leave administrators, and other external partners.
    • Lead vendor performance reviews and hold partners accountable to established service levels.
    • Support annual renewals, RFPs, contract negotiations, and implementation of new programs or vendors.
  • Operations & Administration
    • Ensure accurate and timely administration of all benefit plans throughout the employee lifecycle.
    • Partner closely with HR Operations, Payroll, Finance, and HRIS teams to maintain accurate data and seamless administration.
    • Resolve complex employee benefits issues with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
    • Develop and maintain benefits policies, procedures, documentation, and governance practices.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Section 125, and other applicable laws.
    • Coordinate required filings, notices, audits, and annual compliance activities.
    • Partner with Legal and external advisors to monitor legislative changes and recommend appropriate program updates.
  • Analytics & Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze utilization, participation, claims, and vendor performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards and reporting to support leadership decision-making.
    • Continuously improve processes through automation, technology, and operational excellence.
    • Partner with HRIS teams to optimize benefits administration systems and employee self-service capabilities.
Success in This Role
Within your first year, you'll have:
  • Delivered a seamless and engaging Open Enrollment experience.
  • Built strong partnerships with our benefits vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Identified opportunities to improve benefits offerings while balancing employee experience and cost.
  • Increased operational efficiency through process improvements and system optimization.
  • Helped ensure our benefits programs remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with our Total Rewards strategy.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience managing U.S. employee benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave administration, and applicable U.S. benefits regulations.
  • Experience leading Open Enrollment from planning through execution.
  • Demonstrated success managing benefits vendors, brokers, and carrier relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions and improve programs.
  • Experience working with HRIS and benefits administration platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Dayforce, or similar systems.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain complex benefits topics to diverse audiences.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting employees across multiple states.
  • Experience participating in vendor selection, RFPs, and implementation projects.
