The Payroll & Benefits Specialist provides support to the HR department with a primary focus on payroll processing and benefits administration. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll, benefits support, compliance, and employee assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payrolls, including bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls, accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll data in ADP Workforce Now.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and conduct audits of payroll, timekeeping, and benefits data.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, and 401(k) plans; reconcile invoices and support employee benefit inquiries.
- Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on payroll, benefits, and related policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and reporting requirements, including EEO-1, Form 5500, and non-discrimination testing.
- Support HR projects, initiatives, and program implementations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of California payroll processing experience.
- 3+ years of ADP Workforce Now payroll experience.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP), Word, and Outlook.
- 3+ years of 401(k) administration experience.
- 1+ year of multi-state payroll experience.
- 1+ year of benefits administration experience.
- 1+ year of ADP Workforce Now Super User experience.
- 1+ year of experience with non-discrimination testing and Form 5500 filings.
