Benefits Specialist

Position: Benefits SpecialistCompany: Amick FarmsAddress: 7155 Batesburg Highway, Batesburg, SC 29006Duties & Responsibilities:- Possesses a broad knowledge of health and retirement plans and the ability tocommunicate and educate others about the plans.Responsible for:- Coordinating the monthly new hire enrollment process and providingreports and support to Benefit Coordinators.- Responding to disability eligibility requests from vendor and supportsFMLA liaison.- Administering the EAP Substance Abuse Program along with local HR.- Collection of Benefit payments for employees on Leave of Absence.- Troubleshooting issues and resolving errors with Benefit Coordinators,payroll and benefit vendors to optimize data integrity.- Staying abreast of compliance and regulatory changes / updates that mayimpact company programs and procedures.- Providing customer service for local HR representatives and employeesand assistance with claim/issue resolution.- Protection of the privacy and confidentiality of the employees and theirfamily's health at all times.- Assists Benefits Supervisor with projects and other department initiatives asassigned.Qualifications:- Associates or Bachelor's degree or HR/Benefits certification preferred- 3+ years experience in Benefits administration or 5+ years in Human Resources- Knowledge in ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills- Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise- Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to communicatewith, support, and maintain relationships with employees of all levels.- Interpersonal skills with experience handling confidential and sensitiveinformation- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft Suite (Intermediate Excel skills)- Experience with HRIS/Payroll and Benefit Administration systems andfunctionalityNice to Have:- Bilingual (English + Spanish or Haitian/Creole)
