We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Benefits Specialist to join a Human Resources team. In this role, you will administer and support employee benefit programs, serve as a trusted resource for employees, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong benefits administration experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and coordinate employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, and voluntary benefits.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, life event changes, open enrollment, and general benefits inquiries.
Serve as the primary liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve enrollment, claims, and coverage issues.
Manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave policies.
Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and eligibility updates within HRIS and benefits systems.
Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accurate employee deductions and vendor billing.
Prepare benefits reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory filings as needed.
Support new hire orientation by explaining benefit offerings and eligibility requirements.
Assist with annual open enrollment planning, communication, and employee education initiatives.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Partner with Payroll, Human Resources, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless benefits administration.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3+ years of experience in benefits administration, human resources, or a related role.
Knowledge of employee benefits programs, enrollment processes, and applicable regulations.
Experience using HRIS, benefits administration, or payroll systems.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred:
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification.
Experience with FMLA, COBRA, ACA reporting, and leave management.
Experience working with multiple benefit plans in a mid-sized or large organization.
Pay Details: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour
