Description
The Benefits Specialist will:
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, and ancillary plans.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and maintain accurate records in HRIS and benefits systems.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, claims issues, leave requests, workers' compensation, and benefit-related communications.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, employee education, and enrollment follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA requirements.
- Reconcile benefit invoices, coordinate payments, and work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions.
- Act as liaison with insurance carriers, brokers, retirement plan providers, and other benefits vendors.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and ongoing administration of employee benefit programs.
- Support onboarding activities, including serving as a backup for new employee orientation.
Requirements
- Associate degree; Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Two years' Human Resources experience
- Four year's Human Resources experience (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Human Resources office at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT.
Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
