    Description

    Alta Equipment Group is seeking a Benefits Specialist for our Human Resources team at our Livonia, MI location.Job Summary:The Benefits Specialist administers employee benefits programs, ensuring employees receive accurate information on all company sponsored benefits. This role works closely with Human Resources, payroll, benefits vendors, and employees to maintain compliance and provide exceptional service.Key Responsibilities:

    Administer enrollments, changes, and terminations across all benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement).Manage new hire onboarding, benefits communications, and enrollment tracking; ensure timely completion.

    Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, claims, and policies.

    Serve as primary liaison with carriers, brokers, and administrators to resolve issues and maintain relationships.Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices; partner with Accounts Payable on processing and accuracy.Administer COBRA, qualifying life events, and leave/disability programs in compliance with regulations.Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS (Dayforce) and support reporting and audits.Execute compliance activities including audits, nondiscrimination testing, and regulatory reporting.Support 401(k) and ESPP programs, including employee inquiries and vendor coordination.Prepare union benefits reporting and support multi-state compliance requirements.Develop and distribute employee communications and benefits updates.Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.2+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related role.Knowledge of employee benefits programs, leave administration, disability programs, and applicable regulations.Experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred).Strong organizational and analytical skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters.

    Preferred Skills:

    Experience in managing benefits for a multi-state workforce.Knowledge of payroll.Strong problem-solving and vendor management skills.
