      Position Overview: The Office of Human Resources at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a Benefits & Wellness Specialist to join our collaborative team. At Bryn Mawr, people, purpose, and learning intersect—and our HR team plays a critical role in cultivating a workplace where faculty and staff can thrive.  

      In this role, you will help ensure that Bryn Mawr College's comprehensive benefits programs are delivered with care, accuracy, and exceptional service. Working closely with the Director of Employment & Benefits, you will support employee benefit, leave, and wellness programs, Open Enrollment, communications, and partnerships and serve as a trusted resource for employees navigating benefits and leaves (e.g., FMLA, parental, leave, and short-term disability).

      Schedule & Benefits: Bryn Mawr is committed to building and sustaining a campus community where faculty and staff can thrive. This full-time position has a standard schedule of 35 hours per week and is eligible for hybrid remote work up to one day per week.  The College offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including 22 days of vacation per year, three days personal leave, generous holiday time (including an extended winter break between Christmas Eve & New Year’s Day), 10% employer retirement contribution, sick leave, disability plans, life insurance, medical, dental, and vision, paid parental leave, tuition opportunities, and more.       Characteristic Responsibilities 

      Benefits Administration & Employee Support 

      • Serve as a primary resource for employees regarding health, retirement, leave, and ancillary benefit programs, delivering exceptional customer service.  
      • Administer a comprehensive portfolio of benefit programs and opportunities, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, paid time off, tuition, COBRA, EAP, childcare, retiree, and other benefit offerings.  
      • Partner with the Director of Employment & Benefits to plan, coordinate, and administer the annual Open Enrollment process, including employee communications, educational materials, enrollment tracking, and collaboration with HRIS and external vendors to ensure accurate enrollment and census data. 
      • Audit benefit data, maintain accurate enrollment records, and manage benefit-related responsibilities, including the Benefits email inbox.  
      • Maintain and update benefit information on the Human Resources website.  
      • Collaborate with the Director of Employment & Benefits and campus partners to support employee wellness initiatives throughout the year. 
         

      Employee Health & Wellness

      • Develop, coordinate, and promote comprehensive programs, ensuring access to resources that promote health, wellbeing, and overall workplace experience.
      • Serve as a resource and advocate, helping employees understand and access available health and wellbeing resources.
      • Plan and execute wellness initiatives, campaigns, communications, workshops, and educational events throughout the year.
      • Partner with benefits providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver engaging wellness programs and resources.
      • Coordinate health screenings in collaboration with the Health Center, wellness assessments, fitness initiatives, and other preventive health programs.
      • Manage wellness calendars, communications, program coordination, and related administrative activities.
         

      Benefits Operations 

      • Manage relationships with benefit vendors and serve as the primary point of contact for benefit billing and plan administration.  
      • Download, reconcile, and review vendor invoices; process payments through Workday using purchase orders and service invoice requests.  
      • Monitor monthly carrier invoices, reconcile billing discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate payment of benefit expenses.  
      • Coordinate with HRIS and external vendors to maintain accurate census and enrollment files.  
         

      Leave Administration 

      • Administer leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), Parental Leave, Workers' Compensation, and Short- and Long-Term Disability.  
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requesting or utilizing leave, providing guidance on eligibility, required documentation, and available benefits.  
      • Maintain regular communication with employees and managers throughout the leave process and ensure receipt of appropriate status updates and return to work clearances.
      • Facilitate leave-related documentation, wage verifications, insurance information, and other required communications.  
      • Manage employee benefit contributions during paid and unpaid leave, including coordinating direct payments, as appropriate. 
         

      May perform other duties as assigned. 

       Qualifications 

      • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.
      • Minimum four years of full-time, progressive experience in Human Resources/Benefits.
      • CEBS, SHRM-CP, and/or PHR certifications a plus.
      • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws. 
      • Ability to work collaboratively with HR team members, faculty, staff, and students. 
      • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. 
      • Ability to exercise and maintain discretion, sound judgment, and confidentiality. 
      • Successful completion of satisfactory background checks. 
      • Higher Ed and Workday experience preferred.
