BESS Commissioning Manager

Reporting to Operations Americas - Engineering Based in Houston, Texas, USA

The selected professional will lead the commissioning phase of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operational in line with technical specifications and safety standards.

What will you do:

• Project Planning & Coordination • Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures. • Coordinate engineering, construction, operations teams, subcontractors, and vendors. • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures. • Support change order negotiations with the Project Manager.
• Testing & Validation • Oversee functional and performance testing of BESS systems. • Ensure compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards. • Resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Documentation & Reporting • Track progress and maintain commissioning records. • Ensure documentation for Mechanical and Substantial Completion is complete.
• Safety & Compliance • Enforce safety protocols and regulatory requirements. • Promote a strong safety culture on site.

What do we need:

• 5 years of commissioning experience, preferably in energy storage or renewables.
• Experience managing large-scale projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of BESS systems.
• Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Site-based work environment.
• Travel required, approximately two weeks per month.
