Step into a day on the packaging floor
At NW Industrial Staffing, we’re hiring a Packaging Maintenance Technician to support a locally owned brewery that’s remained independent and obsessed with quality for two decades. Picture this: your shift begins at 6:00 AM, you walk the line, and the hum of conveyors, fillers, and labelers sets the pace. You’re the guardian of uptime—tuning pneumatics and hydraulics, catching wear before it becomes downtime, and coaching operators so the line runs safer and smoother every day.
What your day looks like
- Start with preventative checks on conveyors, fillers, labeling machines, pumps, and compressors—adjustments, lubrication, and calibrations to keep output on spec.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues at the component level; PLC familiarity is a plus when digging into faults.
- Lead by teaching: train Packaging Operators on essential duties, safe operation, and daily/weekly/monthly cleaning and maintenance checks.
- Assess each operator’s technical skills and provide input for training records to elevate the whole team.
- Assist with new equipment installs, line adjustments, and precision calibrations to drive continuous improvement.
- Document work in maintenance logs; communicate clearly with maintenance teammates and production supervisors to stay aligned with the company maintenance program.
- Champion safety, especially LOTO, and model great attendance and punctuality.
What you bring
- 3+ years of machine maintenance in production (beverage experience preferred).
- Hands-on strength with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work a 12-hour shift with bending, stooping, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and crawling as needed.
- Experience with packaging line maintenance is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures, especially with LOTO.
