Description
We are seeking an experienced Bicycle Repair Technician to join our Cambridge Crossing team. Our shop culture balances a relaxed atmosphere with the clear guidance of a process-driven retail environment. We rely on competent, communicative staff who can manage the "big picture" while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
While we service all bicycles, a significant portion of our volume involves hub motor e-bikes. We provide specialized training for electrical diagnostics and e-bike-specific maintenance.
Position Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional mechanic experience in a retail shop.
Efficiency: Ability to perform a comprehensive tune-up (including adjustments, wheel truing, drivetrain replacement, and brake service) on a standard bike in approximately one hour.
Technical Skill: Proficiency with hydraulic brakes and electrical systems; basic computer literacy.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs (assisted-lift stands are provided at all stations).
Soft Skills: A collaborative, professional, and pleasant attitude with excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
Flexibility: Ability to work in non-standard environments (mobile repairs/events) and a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and opening/closing shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality service and repairs on all bicycle types, including e-bikes.
Maintain clear communication with team members and customers regarding repair status.
Contribute to store cleanliness and workspace organization.
Balance long-term projects with immediate customer service needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: Starts at $25/hour (commensurate with experience).
Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate for all overtime hours (available but not required).
Time Off: 10 paid days off per year for full-time employees.
Perks: Fully equipped workstations with assisted-lift stands, employee discounts, and daily snacks/beverages.
Growth: Paid training for professional certifications.
We strive to create an accessible and inclusive environment for both our employees and our customers. If you are a goal-oriented mechanic with a desire to learn and a team-first mindset, we want to hear from you.
