As a Behavior Specialist Consultant, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in building life skills, communicating, engaging socially, and learning strategies to manage their behavior. The ideal candidate will be independently motivated to provide excellent service while effectively communicating with your team and supervisor. They will liaise with Direct Support Professionals, Caregivers, and Supports Coordination Unit to support individual client's goals. Essential Job Duties:Develop and implement Applied Behavior Analysis Behavioral Therapy (ABA) strategies for adults with autism and dual diagnoses.Administer effective, individualized, evidence-based programs and services for clients displaying challenging problem behaviors to improve their social functioning, communication, and quality of life.Assist in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments, ABA tools, and behavior plans to provide a safe and effective educational environment for clients and their families or caregivers with challenging behaviors.Assist in developing training materials for staff and clients with challenging behaviors.Developing and implementing an individualized and effective communication system for nonverbal individuals.Conduct workshops, training, in-service presentations, etc., on ABA therapy and other topics to develop skills and establish effective relationships with behaviorally or emotionally troubled clients.Provide behavior therapy in many different environments, including the home, day programs, workplace, schools, communities, and others.Able to flex your schedule to make time for working families who may not be able to meet during regular business hours.Engage in bi-monthly supervision groups with Board Certified Behavior Analysts.Have reliable transportation and a willingness to use your vehicle for work-related appointments.
