Referring and linking families with other community programs is also an essential component of this position.

If you are passionate about early childhood development, equity, and making a direct impact right here in our mountain communities, and are bilingual in Spanish and English, we want to meet you!

About the Department of Human Services

Eagle County Department of Human Services (ECDHS) directly touches the lives of thousands of Eagle County residents every year. From helping families and individuals access programs that put food on the table, warm their homes, and find childcare to protecting those too young or too old to protect themselves, ECDHS is the team of people who ensure families and individuals in our community have what they need to live a stable life now and in the future.

The EHS program operates as part of Eagle County Department of Human Services (ECDHS). ECDHS comprises the following divisions: Children, Family & Adult Services, Economic Services, and Integrated Support Services, each working together to provide exceptional service to our customers. ECDHS is committed to ensuring all ECDHS clients experience a "no wrong door" approach to service delivery.

The Children, Family & Adult Services Division (CFAS) is responsible for administering a range of critical programs including Child Welfare, Adult Protection, Child Maltreatment Prevention Programs and Early Head Start.

  • Connections: Use a strengths-based, two-generation approach to link families to vital community programs, track child health statuses, and support medical/dental follow-ups.
  • Build Community: Organise and facilitate dynamic parent committees, group socials, and program events, occasionally providing safe transportation in an Eagle County vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working directly with families, human services, or within an early childhood education setting. (Previous Head Start experience is a plus, but not required!)
  • Education: A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR relevant coursework toward an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ECE, Social Work, Human Development, or a related field.
