Job Summary:

The School District of New London is anticipating a vacancy for a dynamic and innovative Bilingual/English Learner Teacher to join our collaborative high school community and districtwide multilingual team as we continue to ensure success for all students. The Bilingual/EL teacher will be responsible for supporting multilingual learners in developing English language proficiency while ensuring meaningful access to grade-level academic content. This position includes providing direct English language instruction, supporting language development across content areas, and collaborating closely with classroom teachers to plan, adapt, and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of students. Knowledge of WIDA screeners and WIDA English Language Development Standards is essential, along with familiarity with ACCESS for ELs assessment and its role in monitoring student growth.

Essential Job Duties:

The Bilingual/EL teacher will monitor student progress, maintain appropriate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines, and communicate effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of second language acquisition, culturally responsive practices, and a commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments.

Qualifications
