New Orleans Smiles is seeking a qualified and caring Bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Lead for Orthodontics to join our growing team.

The Orthodontic Clinical Lead is responsible for supporting clinical performance, workflow efficiency, team leadership, and patient experience within the orthodontic department. This role helps ensure smooth daily operations, strong communication between the orthodontist and team, and consistent, high-quality patient care.


This position serves as a bridge between the doctor and the clinical team — helping maintain organization, accountability, and a positive team culture while ensuring an excellent experience for every patient.


This is a leadership role that requires strong orthodontic clinical knowledge, organization, communication skills, and the ability to guide and support the clinical team.

Responsibilities


Orthodontic Department Leadership:
Support daily ortho operations and help maintain efficient patient flow during clinic days.


Clinical Workflow Coordination:
Ensure operatories, instruments, and materials are prepared and organized for orthodontic procedures.


Orthodontic Clinical Support:
Assist with orthodontic procedures including adjustments, wire changes, bracket placement/removal, scans/impressions, and appliance management.


Team Leadership & Support:
Assist with training, mentoring, and supporting orthodontic assistants and clinical team members.


Quality of Care & Compliance:
Maintain high standards of patient care, infection control, and adherence to orthodontic protocols.


Lab & Case Coordination:
Support tracking of lab cases, appliances, aligners, and ensure timely follow-up and organization.


Communication & Team Alignment:
Facilitate clear communication between the orthodontist, clinical team, and administrative team.


Required Qualifications


  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Minimum 3–5 years of dental assisting experience (orthodontic experience strongly preferred)
  • Expanded duties certification (as applicable to Louisiana regulations) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures and clinical workflows
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional, reliable, and patient-focused
  • Availability to work scheduled Saturdays (select or alternating) as part of a full-time schedule

Compensation & Benefits


Pay will be based on experience and qualifications.


Compensation: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour
