    Job Status: This position is full-time. HRDC also offers flexible schedules and a "reduced work week", which encourages full-time staff to use up to 4 paid hours weekly for their personal wellness.

    Location: Wheat Suites in Bozeman

    Wage: $26.00/hour

     

    General Summary of Purpose of this Position:

    The Bilingual Case Manager is an integral part of the Emergency & Supportive Housing team and is responsible for supporting the delivery of case management services. With the growing diverse population accessing services this position is expected to work with Spanish-speaking families. This position will support customers with case management activities including resource navigation, career and job exploration, and housing goals.

     

    Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Case Management (65%)

    • Works with families participating in HRDC's Wheat Suites Program to determine appropriate program placements, assess barriers to housing stability, and identify needed services and supports.

    • Conducts comprehensive assessments to identify participant strengths, goals, and service needs.

    • Develops, implements, and monitors individualized service plans focused on housing stability, income, education, employment, health, and family well-being.

    • Coordinates referrals and connects households to internal and external resources, including public benefits, healthcare, behavioral health services, childcare, employment supports, and community-based programs.

    • Assists families in identifying and securing permanent housing opportunities.

    • Provides ongoing advocacy, problem-solving, and support to help families navigate systems and overcome barriers to stability.

    2. Data and File Management (15%)

    • Collaborates with the Compliance Department to collect and maintain program data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting requirements.

    • Maintains customer files, case notes, service plans, and documentation systems in accordance with agency policies and funding requirements.

    • Efficiently and accurately enters required data into HMIS and other program databases.

    • Ensures timely completion of required documentation, assessments, releases of information, and program verifications.

    • Maintains accurate and complete records to support internal and external monitoring activities.

    3. Teamwork (10%)

    • Collaborates closely with agency programs and community partners to uphold best practice standards in transitional and supportive housing services.

    • Participates in multidisciplinary case conferences, coordinated service delivery efforts, and cross-department initiatives to improve outcomes for families.

    • Works collaboratively with the Compliance Department to determine eligibility for supportive services and rental assistance programs by identifying and obtaining required documentation.

    • Contributes to a positive, inclusive, and solutions-oriented team environment.

    5. Training and Development (5%)

    • Engages in ongoing training opportunities related to best practices in family case management, housing stability, trauma-informed care, and organizational policies.

    • Maintains knowledge of community resources, benefit programs, and funding requirements to ensure high-quality service delivery.

    • Participates in required certifications, meetings, and professional development activities.

    6. Organizational Participation (5%)

    • Attend all organizational team meetings

    • Read the weekly news to stay informed

    • Participate in trainings and wellness days when available

    • Conduct respectful, professional, and effective conversations with customers and volunteers regarding behavioral expectations, program compliance, and HRDC property standards.

    Travel:

    • This position will primarily serve Spanish-speaking clients located in Bozeman

     

    Language Skills:

    • Native/Bilingual Spanish- speaking required

    • Ability to read, interpret, and write routine documents and correspondence in English and Spanish

    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex and sensitive information; persuasive speaking abilities

    • Ability to effectively disseminate information about HRDC and community programs.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate annual household income

     

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

    • Ability to interpret a variety of program manuals, guidelines, and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

     

    Confidentiality:

    • This position requires regular handling of sensitive and confidential client and agency information. Unauthorized disclosure could harm client interests and the organization, and may also violate state and federal privacy laws. This position may have access to reports, records, and personnel files, and must exercise the highest level of discretion, judgment, and confidentiality at all times.

     

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficient in navigating spreadsheets, multiple databases, email, calendar

    • Willingness to learn new software systems

    • Comfortable with Microsoft and Google operating systems

     

    Drivers License:

    • Valid State Driver License required

    • Reliable vehicle and appropriate liability insurance are required

     

    Licenses or Certifications that would be useful but are not required:

    • CPR and First Aid, Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid

     

    Other Required Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

    • Ability to effectively work and communicate positively with all socio-economic groups

    • Ability to effectively perform duties with a thorough knowledge of agency goals, objectives, projects and services

    • Enjoys the balance of working directly with people and completing administrative tasks related to client files.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and partner agencies

    • Ability to effectively establish and maintain positive working relationships with other social service providers, organizations, program participants, and staff

     

    Essential Physical, Mental and Emotional Requirements of this position. The following physical, mental and emotional abilities are considered essential to perform the duties listed above:

    • The incumbent must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, must be able to work under time and/or deadline pressures.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Social Services/Education or related field, from a four-year college or university preferred or comparable life/work experience.

    Supervision Received:

    • This position operates under general supervision.

    • The incumbent’s work is primarily assigned by daily workflow and operations.

    • The incumbent is authorized to make decisions as to the timing and sequence of work and the work is performed according to established policies and procedures and/or within applicable laws, rules and regulations governing the tasks being performed.

     

    Supervision of Others:

    • May be responsible for training, recruiting, managing, and scheduling the work of volunteers.

     

    Financial Responsibility: None

     

    Communication:

    • Daily interaction with the public or consumers

    • Interacts with program managers, executives, HRDC boards and/or committees several times a year

    • Interacts with representatives of other service providers on a weekly or more frequent basis

    • Interacts with funding agencies to provide information or exchange facts annually

    • Interacts with governmental compliance or auditors to provide information or exchange facts annually

     

    Working Conditions:

    • Works in a temperature-controlled office environment.

    • Weekly or more frequent operation of a motor vehicle under all weather conditions.

    • Weekly or more frequent exposure to customers with unfavorable body odor.

    • Weekly or more frequent exposure to customers in crisis which can manifest in loud outbursts, anger, and threats of harm to self or others
