Bilingual Case Manager – Illinois Welcoming Center (IWC)
The Illinois Welcoming Center (IWC) provides culturally responsive, comprehensive services to immigrant and Limited English Proficient (LEP) communities. We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Case Manager to support individuals and families in accessing public benefits and achieving greater self-sufficiency.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $17.50
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach and educate community members on available public benefits, including SNAP, Medicaid, and All Kids
Assist clients with applications, documentation, and interpretation as needed
Provide holistic case management, including assessments, referrals, follow-up, and service coordination
Build partnerships with community organizations and present at informational sessions
Deliver culturally appropriate services and support program outreach, including Spanish-language media
Respond to crisis situations and connect clients to immediate resources (housing, food, mental health, employment)
Maintain accurate client records and follow up with agencies to ensure timely case processing
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field with 4+ years of experience
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required)
Knowledge of Illinois public benefits; DCFS familiarity a plus
Experience working with immigrant or diverse communities
Strong communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills
Ability to collaborate with community partners and support organizational mission
Basic computer proficiency
Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel between offices in Ogle and Winnebago Counties
Valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform routine physical tasks
Commitment to at least 15 hours of annual professional development
