Primary Purpose:
Provide administrative and instructional support services to the English as a second language (ESL)/bilingual functional area of the district. Serve as an interpreter throughout the district in a variety of settings and meetings. Support may also include, but not limited to, interpreting for school district officials and parents, translating written documents, creating written documents, and providing language support to students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
40 college hours preferred, but not required
Valid Texas driver's license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Fluent in the designated foreign language (Spanish)
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge, or ability to learn, various aspects of the ESL/bilingual program
Ability to travel throughout the district
Good verbal command of the English and Spanish languages
Good written command of the English and Spanish languages
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to communicate effectively with bilingual parents and students
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
