Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Master's Degree a plus
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification by the State Board
- Reading Specialist Certification a plus
- Valid Texas drivers license with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students in small group settings and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a teacher leader
- Experience in promoting parent engagement
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the education subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides small-group language arts and math interventions
- Utilizes campus data to determine appropriate services and support for students in need of instructional intervention
- Provides assistance for teachers with the Universal Screeners and Diagnostic reading and math assessment tools to meet the state requirements for individual diagnostic assessment
- Supports District language arts and math initiatives and assists with teacher training
- Provide parent education on understanding assessments and supporting student learning at home
- Provide interventions with fidelity to program guidelines
- Monitor the progress of all Title 1 and intervention students according to district expectations
- Maintain Title 1 compliance documentation of student progress and parental involvement
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three years classroom teaching experience/related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
