  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Master's Degree a plus
  • Three years classroom teaching experience/related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification by the State Board
  • Reading Specialist Certification a plus
  • Master Reading Certification a plus
  • Valid Texas drivers license with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists teachers with language arts strategies, interventions, and accommodations for students with reading difficulties, students and parents to work collaboratively to develop competencies and skills for all students to function successfully in the areas of literacy
  • Utilizes campus data to determine appropriate services and support for students in need of instructional intervention
  • Provides assistance for teachers with the Texas Primary Inventory (TPRI) and the Basic Reading Inventory (BRI) to meet the state requirements for individual diagnostic assessment
  • Works collaboratively under the direction of the campus principal, the District's Dyslexia Program Coordinator, and the District's Language Arts staff to implement a dyslexia program
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

At least one year student teaching or approved internship
