Nesco Resource is hiring for a Bilingual Machine Operator for a client in West Columbia, SC. Apply today!

SUMMARY:
Operate or tend machines to prepare raw produce products for storage or shipment.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product.
  • Tend or operate machine that packages product.
  • Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
  • Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Secure finished packaged product by hand tying, sewing, gluing, stapling, or attaching fastener.
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filing machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, and or labels.
  • Stack finished packaged items or wrap protective material around each items and pack the items in cartons or containers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Bilingual skills required
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Continually required to stand, walk, utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, talk or hear, utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information and/or use a keyboard.
  • Occasionally required to sit, required to lift, push or carry more than 50 pounds.
  • Continually exposure to wet and/or humid conditions  (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, work around fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and strong food odors such as onions.
  • Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions, exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather), loud noises (examples: large machinery)

Shift:
Monday - Saturday
7:00am until complete
Potential OT daily
