Phaxis Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual (Spanish) School Counselor for a maternity leave assignment during the 2026–2027 school year in the Elmhurst, IL area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support middle school students by providing academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling services in a collaborative school environment.
Assignment Dates: August 11, 2026 – November 16, 2026
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
School Setting: Middle School
Grade Levels: 6th–8th Grade
Student Caseload: Approximately 190 students
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor endorsement
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field
New graduates are encouraged to apply if they hold a valid Illinois PEL
Provide individual and small group counseling to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success
Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and post-secondary readiness
Conduct crisis intervention and provide appropriate referrals when needed
Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on student support plans
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all students
