Care Management Support Assistant 1

The Care Management Support Assistant 1 contributes to administration of care management. Provide non-clinical support for the assessment and evaluation of members' requirements. This support helps achieve and maintain a wellness state. It does this by guiding members/families toward resources and facilitating interaction with them. These resources are appropriate for the care and wellbeing of members. The Care Management Support Assistant 1 performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically work on routine and patterned assignments. Certified Scribe with skills to assist and document on all patients seen daily by Physician Assistant.

You will be reporting to: Manager, Clinic/Center Administration

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure uncompromised patient care by transcribing fast, and performing editing.
  • Typing out the full forms of medical abbreviations and acronyms, and the formal versions of medical jargon.
  • Identify and follow up on inconsistencies, errors, and missing information within a transcribed report.
  • Submit transcriptions to healthcare professionals for their approval promptly.
  • Perform additional tasks such as following up and revising patient history, and entering medical reports into electronic health records systems.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow legal requirements.
  • Receive patients, schedule appointments, and maintain patient records
  • Work with transcription equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing, and computer software
  • Create templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archives
  • Perform administrative tasks, including mail, phone calls, scheduling, submitting insurance claims, and operating common office machines.
  • Record patient medical histories, physical examinations, test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans in digital audio files
  • Provide customer service to physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients through email, telephone, or face-to-face meetings
Required Qualifications

· Medical Scribe Certification

· Bilingual (English & Spanish)

· Microsoft Office technical experience with Word, Outlook, and Excel

· Administrative support experience in the healthcare industry

· Familiarity with care and well-being resources

Other Qualifications

· Associate's degree

· 6 months – 1 year experience transcribing as Medical Scribe

· Demonstrated excellent customer service Experience interpreting and responding to customer requests

· Microsoft Access proficiency
