Role Description

 The Bilingual Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Tampa, FL, supporting daily pharmacy operations and patient services. This role includes processing and preparing prescriptions, entering and verifying patient and medication information, coordinating refills, and assisting with inventory management and ordering. The technician communicates with patients, providers, and insurers, helping explain medication details, answer routine questions, and resolve basic issues, in both English and another required language. The Bilingual Technician also supports prior authorization workflows, manages documentation, and follows all regulatory, safety, and confidentiality standards. Collaboration with pharmacists and other team members is essential to maintain accurate records, efficient workflows, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy operations skills, including prescription data entry, medication preparation support, and inventory handling.

• Bilingual communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English and another language commonly used by patients in the Tampa, FL area.

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with patients, families, clinicians, and insurers.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, documentation, and time-sensitive requests.

• Basic computer and office software skills, including experience with pharmacy systems or healthcare-related platforms.

• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, privacy standards (such as HIPAA), and safe medication handling practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program or related coursework is preferred.

• Current pharmacy technician certification or registration as required by Florida state regulations, or eligibility to obtain it within a specified timeframe.

• Ability to work on-site in Tampa, FL, including standing for extended periods and performing routine physical tasks related to pharmacy operations.
