An established engineering firm serving clients across infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects is looking to add a skilled billing professional to its Bakersfield team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate project invoicing, supporting healthy cash flow, and helping project teams maintain strong client relationships through timely and precise billing practices.

The Opportunity

This position exists to support a growing project portfolio and provide dedicated oversight of the billing process from project setup through invoice delivery. You'll work closely with project managers, accounting staff, and operations leaders to ensure contract terms, project milestones, and billing requirements are properly reflected in customer invoices.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate client invoices based on project contracts, milestones, time and expense reports, and billing schedules
• Review project documentation to verify billing terms and ensure compliance with customer requirements
• Coordinate with project managers to resolve billing discrepancies, contract questions, and invoicing issues
• Maintain billing records, supporting documentation, and project financial information within accounting systems
• Monitor outstanding invoices and support collections efforts through timely follow-up and client communication

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experience within a professional services, construction, engineering, or related environment
• Strong understanding of contract billing, time and materials invoicing, progress billing, or project-based accounting
• Experience using accounting and ERP systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client requirements simultaneously
