Position Summary: Responsible for the accuracy of the billing system from input to bill preparation for mailing.
Criteria:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma (GED) and three years of customer service experience. Good computer, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess excellent computer skills including experience in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Good customer service and organizational skills required.

Physical Demands:
The ability to use a computer keyboard effectively. The ability to orally communicate by phone and person to person. The ability to see and read printed material.

Must maintain an operating telephone and furnish the number to his/her supervisor.
Essential Functions:- Performs daily scrubbing of edit reports by cycle (SS01).
- Prepares bill batch daily for current cycle. Imports telecom charges, balances, checks, and corrects all errors, reviews, posts.
- Issues necessary adjustments due to over/under reads and issues applicable service guarantees.
- Serves as point of contact with meter readers in the field. Assists with situations found while reading such as theft, location of meters, observed meter movement, smelling gas, etc.
- Analyzes and maintains meter records per cycle, including counts, rereads, skips, etc.
- Completes all trouble reports from meter readers detailing highs, lows, or problems in the field that require attention.
- Maintains records of all reports received from MVRS meter reading system.
- Generates service orders based on meter reading requests.
- Reviews billing demand reports for each cycle.
- Closes all orders and processes charges from ProGas (tank removals, new sets, and deliveries).
- Processes all fire hydrant meters including entering monthly usage and yearly testing schedule.
- Participates in CSR Initiative Training.
- Maintains error reports for meter readers to ensure field accuracy. Maintains Service Guarantee report to show where improvement is needed.
- Generates, mails, and maintains record of all letters requested by Meter Reading Foreman.
- Closes daily ETI disconnect orders.
- Assists with determining usage tolerances as the seasons change (gas and water).
- Assists customers, CSRs, Field Service Dispatch, New Accounts, and Distribution with questions.
- Maintains Special Account book – approx. 40 handheld accounts, including multiple apartment complex water billing.
- Other duties as requested.
