As a billing assistant, youll play an important role in the success of the organization by using your attention to detail, resiliency, communication and collaboration skills.

About the Role:

Youll assist patients, answer billing questions and set up payment agreements using your kindness, problem-solving and customer service skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out billing customer service
  • Perform billing clerical tasks, including processing claims and posting payments.
  • Provide education and support on sliding fee discount applications.

You will travel to Neighborhood sites in Western New York as needed.

Education and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Commitment to adhere to standard operating procedures and policies of Neighborhood Health Center as well as federal, state and local regulations
  • One year prior medical billing experience and insurance verification preferred
  • Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred

Compensation: starting rate $18.50 per hour.
