Billing Clerk Specialist

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $16.42 - 18.82


Job Summary

The Billing Clerk Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Billing Office by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of claims, payments, reports, accounts receivables, data entry, and client billing inquiries.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, enjoys troubleshooting, and enjoys working with numbers.

We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn. 


Essential Functions:

1. Accurately verify and update client insurance coverages with accuracy. 

2. Submit insurance claims daily for assigned payers. 

3. Post payments, adjustments, and transfers accurately. 

4. Identify and correct denied or rejected claims with guidance from supervisor. 

6. Send client billing statements and post client payments. 

7. Respond professionally to client billing questions. 

8. Maintain assigned accounts receivable (A/R) within agency standards. 

9. Provide cross - coverage for billing staff when necessary. 

10. Complete required enrollment and discharge processes in CIMOR. 

11. Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities. 

12. Must provide coverage for all billing team members when needed


 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma with an emphasis on business courses.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Ability to learn new software systems. 
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and problem - solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Valid driver's license for current state of residence, meeting agency MVR standards, and current auto insurance.
