JOB SUMMARY
Kutak Rock seeks a Billing Coordinator II to join the firm’s Accounting and Finance Department in Omaha. This role is responsible for preparing client bills, coordinating billing processes and procedures, and interacting with all areas of the Department, as well as firm attorneys, staff, and clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select pre-bills
- Transfer time and expenses as needed
- Review and revise billing narrative to ensure compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines
- Prepare draft and final bills
- Print, copy, and submit bills
- Provide backup documentation for client costs as needed
- Utilize imaging system to prepare and store billing documents
- Maintain billing requirements including addresses, contacts, rates, and costs
- Report billing information as needed
- Assist with the collection of unpaid bills and coordination with Accounts Receivable team
- Ability to engage with attorneys to provide best practices for billing
- Apply on-account and trust money
- Assist with other duties as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities
- General understanding of accounting practices and principles
- Ability to create and monitor client budgets for e-billing purposes
- Knowledge of insurance company processes regarding deductibles and SIRs and ability to work with claims adjusters
- 10-key adding machine skills
- Aptitude for math and figures
- Accurate typing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency with Third-Party E-Billing software
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- Ability to produce and analyze financial data in connection with a client/matter’s history
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a team-oriented environment
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Flexibility to work overtime
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Greater than 6 years of billing experience in a professional services environment; experience in a law firm preferred
Position Information
Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $30.77-$38.46 per hour, equivalent annual salary range $60,000- $75,000, commensurate with education and experience
Work Arrangement: In Office for the first six months of employment. Hybrid 3:2 with Manager approval after six months
