Location: Remote

Facility: Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital

Department: Oncology

Schedule: Day-Shift | Full-Time | Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Salary: $21.70 - $29.37 per hour 

How you'll make an impact in this role:
  • Secure timely insurance pre-authorizations for scheduled procedures to prevent care delays and ensure a smooth patient admission experience.

  • Evaluate and verify insurance coverage, coordination of benefits, and patient financial responsibility to provide transparency and clarity to families before care begins.

  • Counsel patients and healthcare providers directly regarding coverage limitations, non-authorized services, and financial obligations with empathy and clarity.

  • Manage the end-to-end medical claims process—including preparation, submission, and reconciliation for commercial and government payers—to ensure accurate and compliant reimbursement.

  • Resolve unbilled claims and billing discrepancies by collaborating with internal teams to maintain a healthy, efficient revenue cycle.

What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional requirements you'll need:

Proven Insurance Verification & Authorization Experience: Direct, hands-on experience determining coordination of benefits and securing pre-authorizations from commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers.

Medical Billing & Claims Reconciliation Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in preparing, submitting, and reconciling healthcare claims, with a deep understanding of government and third-party reimbursement practices.
