Billing Specialist (Temp to Hire)
Paying up: $24 to $28/hr.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing freight invoices, managing customer billing, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely payments. Experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking is preferred.

Responsibilities
Prepare and process customer invoices based on rate confirmations, freight charges, and delivery documentation.
Verify Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proofs of Delivery (PODs), fuel surcharges, detention, and accessorial charges prior to billing.
Manage Accounts Receivable and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
Apply customer payments and maintain accurate account records.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes.
Work closely with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and management to obtain required billing documentation.
Reconcile customer accounts and prepare aging reports.
Maintain organized electronic and physical records of invoices and transportation documents.
Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting activities.
Ensure compliance with company policies and customer contract requirements.
Support Accounts Payable and other accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications
2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or accounting experience, preferably in the trucking, transportation, or logistics industry.
Knowledge of freight billing, rate confirmations, BOLs, and PODs.
Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable and collections processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Experience with QuickBooks, McLeod, Tailwind, TMW, or other transportation management systems is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
