We’re currently looking for a full-time Billing Specialist to join our Accounting Department! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Accounting. Great full-time first shift schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
A day in the life of a Decker Billing Specialist looks like:
- Billing loads
- Answering phones and helping with questions
- Processing Proof Of Delivery requests and scanning paperwork
- Verifying paperwork is scanned with correct load
- Processing load paperwork; working with customers to complete missing paperwork
- Monitoring loads that involve or go into detention (the time a Driver waits past their appointment time)
- Reviewing Customer/Driver files, validating detention time taken and ensuring Drivers are paid appropriately
- Processing weekly Driver Detention pay out report
- Collaborating with Accounts Receivable to resolve past due detention revenue and assist with collections
- Completing web-based data entry
- Uploading invoices and backup paperwork
- Setting up new customers for invoicing
- Assisting with making washout and pallet decisions that are cost-efficient for the company; enter reimbursements of unloading, pallets and washouts
- Authorizing requests for a truck washes
- Other duties as assigned
Billing Specialist Must Haves
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced professional work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good keypunch, communication and cross reference skills
- A background in MS Office
- Accounting Experience
- Payroll Experience
Billing Specialist Nice to Haves
- 2 year Accounting degree or equivalent working experience preferred
- Knowledge of McLeod Transportation Software, Payment websites and Desktop Deposit Services helpful
