Job Title: Billing Support Specialist & Hospital Admissions Representative
Department: Revenue Cycle
Reports To: Revenue Cycle Director
Position Summary:
To perform a variety of reception, admitting, and financial duties in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices. Will work closely with administration, office staff and the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for daily opening and /or closing of office.
2. Admit overflow MCMC patients including IP, OP, Swing Bed, Lab, Radiology, Physical Therapy and Emergency Room.
3. Act as telephone and facility back up receptionist, keeping telephone and front desk covered at all times.
4. Complete necessary Admissions by verifying coverage online or by phone and entering complete demographic information.
5. Responsible for any necessary Admission corrections in STAR billing system.
6. Complete required Physical Therapy Discharges in STAR billing system making sure the doctors are listed correctly and the occurrence codes and dates are correct.
7. Collect and process copays and payments on account.
8. Provide assistance in the following areas: hospital billing, billing follow up, and any required accounts receivable duties.
9. Notify Indian Health Service for Outpatient admissions and charges.
10. Submit any 1500 paper and UB paper claims to Indian Health Services.
11. Assist with any payer credentialing needed.
12. Submit specific electronic claims for select payers.
13. Assist with any patient, clinic and hospital billing inquiries.
14. Provide back up for month end processes for all Swing Bed patients.
15. Maintain all dollars for petty cash, lunch tickets, jeans day and auxiliary.
16. Maintain Resident, Patient, and Facility Confidentiality.
17. Know and comply with Residents' Rights rules.
18. Treat Residents, Patients, Visitors and Co-workers with kindness, dignity and respect at all times.
19. Attend and participate in orientation, training, mandatory education, in-services, staff meetings and education courses as instructed to further improve knowledge and skills.
20. Promote teamwork; encourage others to work to the best of their ability; assist with training of new co-workers, if needed.
