A growing transportation and logistics company is seeking a Billing Specialist to join its accounting and operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Billing Specialist who enjoys a fast-paced environment, working with vendors and carriers, and supporting transportation billing processes.

Billing Specialist Responsibilities

• 
  
• Process vendor and carrier checks on a weekly basis.
• 
  
• Print checks, match them to corresponding invoices, and prepare them for mailing.
• 
  
• Maintain warehouse billing spreadsheets and generate bills for inbound and outbound loads.
• 
  
• Process customer billing and carrier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• 
  
• Communicate with customers and carriers primarily through email, with some phone communication as needed.
• 
  
• Provide billing support for both brokerage and asset-based operations.
• 
  
• Follow up with contract drivers when required billing documentation has not been submitted.
• 
  
• Assist with additional billing and administrative responsibilities as needed.
• 
  

Billing Specialist Qualifications

• 
  
• 2–3 years of relevant billing, accounting, or administrative experience.
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• 
  
• Comfortable communicating with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal team members.
• 
  
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced transportation environment.
• 
  
• Comfortable working around a direct, sometimes colorful communication style common in the trucking industry.
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• Experience using McLeod software.
• 
  
• Previous transportation or logistics industry experience.
• 
  
• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
