    Description

    IMEG is hiring a Billing Specialist in Manhattan, NY. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between assigned teams and the Accounting Department, with primary responsibility for billing and accounts receivable monitoring.

    You will work closely with client executives and assigned team members to support accurate project setup, billing, collections, and commercial communication. This role also supports timesheet and expense review, sub consultant invoice processing, and ongoing coordination with teams and clients.

    What You'll Do

    • Assist teams with project initiation and setup in Vision, ensuring commercial contract terms and contacts are accurate

    • Review new project contracts for unusual terms or structure that may affect billings

    • Request billing information from team members and review it for accuracy and completeness

    • Prepare monthly client billings for team projects, reviewing each for accuracy and completeness

    • Monitor team accounts receivable and follow up with team members and/or clients on amounts not paid within terms

    • Manage communication and correspondence to and from clients regarding commercial matters

    • Build professional working relationships with client executives and other assigned team members

    • Review and approve team member timesheets and expense reports

    • Enter sub consultant invoices, track payment terms, and approve invoices for payment when due

    • Meet with assigned teams at their primary office location at least two times a year

    • Maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and project/client related material​

    What You'll Bring

    • 2-year post-high school education

    • Experience in the engineering and/or the construction industry is preferred

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Strong bookkeeping background

    • Has customer service abilities and attitude

    • General understanding of electronic billing

    • Ability to read contracts and follow contract requirements regarding commercial terms

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment

    • Prior billing experience and knowledge of Deltek-Vantagepoint or similar software is preferred but not required

    • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Excel, and Outlook

    • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays

    State of New York Salary Range: $66,000 - $72,800

    Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
