Billing Supervisor – Buffalo, NY | Hybrid
Compensation: $75,000–$90,000
Schedule: Hybrid – 2–3 days remote after onboarding period

A well-established law firm is seeking a Billing Supervisor to lead and support a team of three Billing Specialists. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal billing professional who enjoys balancing hands-on billing responsibilities with team leadership, process improvement, and collaboration across the firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of three Billing Specialists
- Oversee the complete billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate client invoicing
- Review and approve prebills, invoices, write-offs, adjustments, and billing exceptions
- Partner with attorneys and firm leadership to resolve billing inquiries and ensure adherence to client billing guidelines
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and billing deadlines to ensure high-quality service and accuracy
- Assist with electronic billing (e-billing) processes and management of outside counsel guidelines
- Analyze billing trends, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement best practices
- Support month-end and year-end billing activities, reporting, and reconciliation efforts
- Train new team members and assist with the development of billing procedures and documentation
- Serve as a resource for complex billing issues and client account inquiries
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior law firm billing experience strongly preferred
- Previous supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience
- Strong understanding of legal billing procedures, billing systems, and e-billing platforms
- Ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and administrative staff
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing/accounting software
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Associate's Degree or equivalent; 5–7 years of relevant experience
