Position Overview:

Supervises the operation of billing and reimbursement department, which encompasses coding, charge entry, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management. Resource for the Director of Billing & Reimbursement for day-to-day oversight of department. Contributes to the fulfillment of the Networks mission by serving as a role model.

Essential Function:

  • Ensures the activities of the billing operations within the Network are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department protocol, and are in compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, guidelines and requirements.
  • Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes timecard approval and changes, work allocation and production, training and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peek productivity and performance.
  • Understand and remains updated with the current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding principles.

 

Location and Hours of Position

PHN Billing Department: 118 Vine Avenue, Sharon, PA 16146.

The general office hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Compensation

 

This is a salaried position, however, PHN recognizes licensure, experience, education and site location when determining wage.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Associates degree preferred, preferably in business or related field required.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) designation, or appropriate certification preferred.

Knowledge of organization structure, workflow and operating procedures within a Community Health Center billing environment.

Knowledge and understanding of medical billing and/or coding systems, as appropriate to the position.

Minimum three years medical insurance/health care billing and collections with an understanding of medical billing rules and regulations.

Good planning, analytical and decision-making skills, leadership skills.

Excellent customer service skills and phone manner/etiquette.
