Description

BIM/CAD Detailer — Packaged Skid Systems (E/M)

Remote | Full‑Time | $40.00–$55.00 hourly

Is this you?

  • Do you switch effortlessly between piping models and electrical one‑lines?
  • Do you turn specs into shop‑ready sheets without losing sight of manufacturability?
  • Do you enjoy collaborating with engineers and fabricators—even when everyone’s on different coasts?

If so, you’ll thrive with a top‑tier mechanical/electrical contractor known for delivering complex work in data centers, hospitals, life sciences, and high‑rise markets—backed by 75+ years of safety and precision.

What you’ll do

  • Own coordinated 2D and 3D detailing for electro‑mechanical skid packages.
  • Model frames, equipment, piping, valves, and supports in AutoCAD.
  • Produce electrical deliverables: schematics, panel layouts, and power one‑lines.
  • Issue fabrication drawings and isometrics for assembly and wiring.
  • Create 3D visuals and system renderings for client and internal reviews.
  • Build precise BOMs and keep documentation current through as‑builts.
  • Resolve interferences between mechanical and electrical scopes before fabrication.
  • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure buildability and spec compliance.

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years as a CAD drafter/detailer/designer focused on skid systems (mechanical + electrical).
  • Portfolio showing both mechanical and electrical assembly/wiring drawings.
  • Mastery of AutoCAD; Autodesk 3D modeling/rendering experience.
  • Strong command of schematics, single‑line diagrams, and panel layout standards.
  • Ability to read specs and deliver fabrication drawings and BOMs.
  • Familiar with skid fabrication practices, piping, and equipment layouts.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator across remote teams.
  • Self‑directed; productive in a fully remote role.
  • NEC/UL familiarity (preferred).
  • Inventor or Revit experience (preferred).
  • Process, oil & gas, water treatment, or power generation background (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
  • Authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position

Why you’ll love it here

  • Market‑competitive pay tied to experience.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Annual performance bonus eligibility.
  • Term life, AD&D, and voluntary life insurance.
  • Disability income protection.
  • Pre‑tax FSAs for health and dependent care.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and personal time.
  • Training, development, and company‑paid professional memberships/licensure.
  • Work from anywhere in the U.S. (fully remote).
  • Growth trajectory into senior VDC and leadership.
