The BIM Modeler will be responsible for developing and coordinating electrical BIM models for construction projects. The individual will work closely with project management, engineering, field, and prefabrication teams to ensure electrical systems are accurately modeled, coordinated, and ready for installation.
A strong understanding of electrical construction is essential, as the models and drawings produced by this position will be used directly to support field installation and prefabrication activities.
Key Responsibilities
Convert 2D electrical drawings and construction documents into accurate 3D BIM models.
Develop and maintain electrical models using Revit and AutoCAD.
Review electrical plans, layouts, drawings, and project documentation.
Model electrical systems, including conduit routing, panel locations, and other electrical components.
Perform clash detection to identify conflicts between electrical systems, structural components, and other building systems.
Identify potential field installation issues and develop practical modeling solutions.
Coordinate conduit routing around structural elements, equipment, and other building systems.
Make necessary adjustments to models to resolve design and coordination conflicts.
Produce accurate and coordinated drawings for use by field installation teams.
Support prefabrication operations by providing detailed and accurate BIM models and drawings.
Work closely with the prefabrication team to ensure models accurately reflect construction requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field personnel, and other project stakeholders.
Assist project teams in resolving BIM-related design and coordination issues.
Ensure models and drawings are accurate, coordinated, and suitable for construction.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout the modeling and coordination process.
Required Qualifications
2–3+ years of BIM modeling or coordination experience.
Previous experience working on electrical construction projects.
Strong proficiency with Revit.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD.
Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection.
Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings and plans.
Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and field installation practices.
Understanding of electrical layouts, conduit routing, and panel locations.
Ability to identify and resolve potential construction conflicts.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with project management, engineering, field, and prefabrication teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly for an electrical contractor.
Experience supporting commercial, industrial, or large-scale electrical construction projects.
Experience working with electrical prefabrication teams.
Experience coordinating electrical systems with structural and other building systems.
Experience producing BIM models and drawings used directly for field installation.

Certifications
