Job Title: BIM Coordinator / Contract BIM Librarian
Job Description
This contract BIM Librarian role supports a global data centre design team by managing, organizing, and migrating critical project documentation into a centralized, cloud-based library. You will process project closeout submissions, enforce documentation standards, and help transition content to a new platform, ensuring high-quality, reliable digital records across the full BIM lifecycle. The position offers hands-on exposure to complex, large-scale construction projects and the opportunity to build deep expertise in document control, quality management, and project closeout leadership within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and process project closeout documentation submissions into the Global Library, ensuring compliance with established naming conventions and standardized folder structures.
- Use electronic document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), FORMA, and Workdocs to prepare, validate, and transfer project files as part of platform migration activities.
- Evaluate document submissions against organizational standards and perform quality control checks for naming compliance, correct folder placement, and overall file integrity.
- Apply document management standards consistently and flag incomplete, non-compliant, or incorrect submissions and protocols for corrective action.
- Maintain and update project tracking tools for all content across a standardized folder structure, ensuring accurate and current records.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide status updates on submissions, identify missing documentation, and support lifecycle document processing from design through construction handover to operations.
- Develop and maintain a suite of critical lifecycle documents for portfolio assets, including researching and recovering missing resources from legacy sites.
- Collaborate closely with BIM, Construction, Design, Field Engineering, and Operations stakeholders to align on lifecycle documentation interfaces, requirements, and use cases.
- Support or lead project closeout activities by ensuring required deliverables are complete, properly classified, and archived according to standards.
- Identify corrupt, incomplete, or missing models and documentation and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
- Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to accomplish assigned tasks within defined timelines and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage ticket-based workflows, prioritize requests, and ensure timely response and resolution in line with defined processes.
- Apply knowledge of construction drawing classifications (such as CD, IFC, shop drawings, redlines, and as-builts) to validate and organize documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes, quality standards, and tools used for data and document quality management.
Essential Skills
- At least 2+ years of construction or operations experience.
- At least 2+ years of experience working with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- At least 2+ years of experience managing and maintaining data resources in a document control or library environment.
- Experience in construction administration, document control, or BIM coordination (minimum 2+ years).
- Strong organization skills in archival and maintenance operations of project documents.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 or an equivalent Quality Management System and its application to document control and quality management.
- Experience with document management systems and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
- Experience with electronic document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), FORMA, Workdocs, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work within defined SLA timelines and manage ticket-based workflows.
- Proficiency in construction drawing classifications, including CD, IFC, shop drawings, redlines, and as-built drawings.
- Practical knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD file types and drawing classifications.
- Experience identifying corrupt, incomplete, or missing models and documentation.
- Ability to understand file metadata and basic file structures for BIM and construction documentation.
- Experience supporting or leading project closeouts and project handover deliverables.
- Familiarity with construction phase workflows and deliverables, including closeout procedures.
- Strong communication skills for initiating and maintaining conversations with project managers, coordinators, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to follow defined processes and quality standards consistently.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or Information Management is preferred but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
- Experience directly related to data centre design, construction, or operations documentation.
- Experience and knowledge of engineering communication principles and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with BIM file formats such as RVT, NWC, NWD, and DWG and their role in as-built documentation.
- Experience with software tools including Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and SharePoint.
- Understanding of construction closeout procedures and project handover deliverable requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO standards relevant to documentation and quality management.
