Job Title: BIM Coordinator / Contract BIM Librarian

Job Description

This contract BIM Librarian role supports a global data centre design team by managing the lifecycle of digital documentation and BIM content during a major platform migration and period of increased documentation volume. You will process project closeout documentation, maintain a standardized global library, and help migrate content to a new cloud-based platform, working closely with BIM, construction, design, field engineering, and operations stakeholders. This position offers hands-on exposure to complex, large-scale data centre projects and the full BIM lifecycle, while allowing you to build deep expertise in document control, quality management, and project closeout leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to complete assigned tasks within defined timelines and service level agreements.
  • Review and process project closeout documentation submissions to the Global Library, ensuring strict compliance with established naming conventions and standardized folder structure requirements.
  • Use electronic document management systems such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC FORMA), and Workdocs to prepare, validate, and transfer project files as part of platform migration activities.
  • Evaluate document submissions against organizational standards by performing quality control checks for naming compliance, correct folder placement, file integrity, and completeness.
  • Apply document management standards consistently and flag incomplete, non-compliant, or incorrect submissions and protocols for correction and follow-up.
  • Maintain and update project tracking tools for all content across a standardized folder structure, ensuring accurate status, traceability, and auditability of documents.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on submission status, missing information, and lifecycle document processing from design through construction handover to operations.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of critical lifecycle documents for portfolio assets, including researching and recovering missing resources on legacy sites.
  • Collaborate closely with BIM, Construction, Design, Field Engineering, and Operations teams to align on lifecycle documentation interfaces, use cases, and requirements.
  • Support or lead project closeout activities by organizing, validating, and packaging documentation to meet construction closeout procedures and handover deliverable requirements.
  • Identify corrupt, incomplete, or missing models and documentation, and work with project managers and coordinators to resolve gaps.
  • Apply principles of quality management, including ISO 9001 or equivalent standards, to archival and maintenance operations of project documents.
  • Manage ticket-based workflows efficiently, ensuring all requests and tasks are tracked, prioritized, and resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with project managers, coordinators, and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve documentation issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of document control processes, standards, and tools as the global library evolves and migrates to new platforms.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of construction or operations experience.
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • At least 2+ years of experience managing and maintaining data resources in a document control or library environment.
  • Experience in construction administration, document control, or BIM coordination (minimum 2+ years).
  • Strong organizational skills in archival and maintenance operations of project documents.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or an equivalent Quality Management System in the context of document and quality control.
  • Hands-on experience with document management systems and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Experience with electronic document management tools such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (including ACC FORMA), Workdocs, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency with BIM and CAD tools, including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, and familiarity with their file types and structures.
  • Proficient understanding of construction drawing classifications, including CD, IFC, shop drawings, redlines, and as-builts.
  • Experience identifying corrupt, incomplete, or missing models and documentation, and taking corrective actions.
  • Ability to understand file metadata and basic file structures for effective document organization and retrieval.
  • Experience supporting or leading project closeouts and managing related documentation.
  • Familiarity with construction phase workflows, documentation requirements, and deliverables.
  • Ability to work within defined SLA timelines and manage ticket-based workflows effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for initiating and maintaining conversations with project managers, coordinators, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to follow defined processes, standards, and quality requirements consistently.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Information Management, or a related field is preferred but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
  • Experience directly related to data centre design, construction, or operations documentation.
  • Experience and knowledge of engineering communication principles and documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with BIM file formats such as RVT, NWC/NWD, and DWG and their role in as-built documentation and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with software tools including Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of construction closeout procedures and project handover deliverable requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and their application to documentation and quality processes.
  • Experience in project coordination, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Experience with change order documentation and tracking in a construction environment.
  • Experience in Revit coordination for electrical designs.
  • Experience in data and document quality management, including validation and auditing practices.
  • Prior exposure to data centre environments or mission-critical facilities is advantageous.
  • Interest in continuous learning and professional growth in BIM, document control, and digital asset management.

Work Environment

The role supports a global data centre design and operations organization that focuses on innovation in energy efficiency, cost effectiveness, and carbon footprint reduction. You will work closely with a diverse team that values continuous learning and collaboration across BIM, construction, design, field engineering, and operations disciplines. The position is contract-based, hourly, and fixed-term, with a strong likelihood of extension or conversion based on performance and business needs. The ideal arrangement is a hybrid schedule with periodic in-office work in the Seattle area, but fully remote work is possible for candidates residing in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). You will work extensively with cloud-based collaboration and document management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Workdocs, SharePoint, Bluebeam, and BIM/CAD tools including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. The environment emphasizes clear processes, defined SLAs, and quality standards such as ISO 9001, offering exposure to complex, large-scale construction projects and the full BIM lifecycle from design through operations.
