Job Title: BIM Designer
Job Description
The BIM Designer will join the Drafting Team and focus primarily on industrial piping for complex power industry projects. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining advanced BIM models and associated data, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to project and company standards and guidelines. You will contribute to the design and documentation of Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) equipment and related systems used in power generation worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Create, check, and maintain complex 3D models of all equipment supplied by the company and sub-vendors using advanced features of BIM software.
- Generate and extract precise 2D drawings and detailed views from 3D models to support fabrication and construction documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the project Layout Design Coordinator and Engineers to review models, vendor equipment, and ensure coordinated design solutions.
- Share and access project data through a Common Data Environment to support effective collaboration with Drafting and Engineering team members.
- Check models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Identify 3D model clashes and coordinate with the project team to resolve design conflicts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Apply drafting and mechanical design principles to industrial piping layouts and related equipment configurations.
- Assist in training and mentoring Junior BIM Modelers by sharing best practices, advanced modeling techniques, and guidance on standards.
- Support continuous improvement of BIM processes, standards, and templates used within the Drafting Team.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in BIM software, with strong experience using Revit for industrial piping and mechanical design.
- Hands-on drafting experience, including the ability to produce clear and accurate fabrication and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling concepts and the ability to create and manage complex BIM models.
- Ability to identify and resolve 3D model clashes and coordinate solutions with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with mechanical and piping design principles in an industrial or power generation context.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and completeness in models and drawings.
- Ability to work effectively within a Common Data Environment and follow established project and company standards.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with Layout Design Coordinators, Engineers, and other drafting professionals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on projects involving Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) or other power industry equipment.
- Background in OEM equipment design or industrial plant design environments.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior drafting or BIM staff.
- Interest in contributing to continuous improvement of BIM workflows, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to hybrid work arrangements and collaborate effectively in both office and remote settings.
Work Environment
You will work with advanced BIM and drafting tools, including Revit, in a highly technical setting focused on HRSG design and power industry projects. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with extensive interaction among drafting and engineering professionals.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
