Required Qualifications
High school diploma or its equivalent,
Basic math and measurement,
Knowledge of basic volume and weight,
Mechanical skills and abilities,
Physical abilities, including: continuous lifting of up to 70 pounds, continuous walking/standing (up to 14 hours/day), bending and squatting,
Written and verbal communication skills,
Interpersonal and teamwork skills,
Problem solving skills,
Adaptability and versatility (change) skills,
Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable work schedules (sometimes with short notice) when and as required by the work load, which may include weekend and/or holiday hours.
Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma plus trade school training/diploma,
Three years of trade bindery work experience,
Bindery trade certification(s),
Knowledge of Shop Floor Data Collection, via Monarch Data Collection (thin net) Terminals,
General printing knowledge, particularly with regard to the principles of binding and finishing and the ability to recognize problems that could adversely affect the quality of the finished product,
Knowledge of set-up and operational knowledge of all equipment,
Knowledge of basic mailing regulations,
Knowledge of shipping and distribution,
Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),
Knowledge of general Publix and Printing/Mailing Services’ policies and procedures (attendance/punctuality, plant security, safety, etc.),
Knowledge of chain-of-custody (CoC) processes and procedures, specific to the correct procedures for segregation and identification of both raw materials and finished product, and
Publix and Printing Services job and code numbering systems.
