Statement of Work Details
Performs research activities and other tasks in a laboratory environment.
  • Perform development of rodent models to determine if the significance of these variants are a natural progressionRecords observations and measurements and reports results at weekly laboratory meetings.
  • Participate in the development of laboratory proceduresDocuments and analyzes data from experiments. - Perform gene expression qPCR experiments
  • Perform diverse molecular and cellular procedures in accordance to laboratory SOPs or manufacturer's instructions, e.g., qPCR 3 Evaluates new technologies and instruments.
  • Search existing literature; propose, design and test alternative assays for difficult screening targets.
Maintains lab notebooks and lab equipment.
  • Work with staff to monitor and consult on pre-doctoral student experiments
  • Monitor and provide assistance to the external sample storage facility; monitor the internal freezers- Monitor lab supplies and notify NIH personnel when replenishment is needed
  • Monitor lab safety in the CRGGH lab.
Writes technical reports and prepares manuscripts.
  • Write manuscript for publications, in collaboration with other team members and outside collaborators.
Performs lab techniques which study the chemical processes of living organisms.
  • Perform assays to validate antibodies western blot analysis, ELISA and immunoprecipitation. 2
  • Perform genotyping using multiple platforms 1
  • Perform sample preparation for lab assays and for collaboration.
Conducts research experiments that will determine the effects of food, drugs, serums, hormones, and other substances on tissues and processes of living organisms.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine sample preparation/extraction methods for a variety of biological matrices including but not limited toplasma, urine, skeletal muscle and brain tissue.
  • Conduct research experiments that will determine the effects of food, drugs, serums, hormones and other substances on tissues andprocesses of living organisms.
  • Receive and track samples from field sites for the CRGGH
  • Retrieve samples from external storage facility for the CRGGH.
  • Conduct Plex Pro Assay for Bio-Rad multiple cytokines and diabetes panelPresents findings at scientific conferences and meetings.
  • Analyze the experiment results and present findings in project meetings, laboratory and outside meetings.
Participates in the development of laboratory procedures.
  • Participate in the development, optimization and documentation of laboratory procedures- Management of internal and external biorepositories
  • Work with staff to train, monitor and consult on trainee experiments
